I also want a Nikon D5000- but feel like buying one would be rewarding my shitty grades. Maybe I will wait until at least next week (when I take my metabolic test and get an amazingly smart grade). Booyah

I desperately want to go to Europe- I just received an email about an after grad trip there with VT students for 25 days. Why am I not jumping all over it? Hmm.. Because it's $3864. But man would that be a sweet time. Ideally, I could get a sweet ass DSLR and take amazing pictures. Maybe by then I will know if I get into grad-school and can use some money. Once in a life-time trip? Possibly.
Residence Life should be smart. I should be in shape. I shall start off with that observation.
During training we were given pasta- breadsticks- salads- aaaand sodas. Directly after the dinner all the RAs were asked to compete against each other in teams. Hmmmmmm...not too smart to serve heavy meals to kids who most likely sat on their asses all summer and watched their jelly-rolls ooze over their sweat pants. I am proudly one of those aforementioned people. Soooo, during my part of the competition, which was the sprinting challenge, I fell. My legs stopped moving and my body kept going and I ate it in front of 100 or more people. I then proceeded to go down to the mens locker room and puke in the toilet. Hahaha. How out of shape am I? The answer is ridiculously out of shape. It's sad.
Oh my G. It has been 17 months since I have dated anyone. About 20 since it was actually a good date. Don't you think thats kind of a long time to be single? I do. Someone had a hold on me that didn't go away for a long time- This IS the year I get another serious girlfriend. Mark my words blogger...even though thats what you literally do. So kudos blogger for doing what you do best- which of course is marking my words.
I was having a hard tome coming up with some meaningful words about this couple- not that finding good things to say about them is difficult, it's just more of a testament to my lack of experience. I did get some suggestions from you all sitting at the tables that I should pound a few drinks down and speak. I can guarantee you that speech would be littered with hugs and 'i love yous' and my clothes would be stained red from all the wine spills. I will spare you all from that.
So, as most of you know there is a long history between the Clark's and Farley's. We all grew up together and Max has crushed on Kristy forever. Aaaand now that I am older, I realize why whenever I asked him to sleep over the first thing out of his mouth was "Is Kristy there?" And why when I said "No" somehow there was always phone trouble and we got disconnected...
Noo, but I wasn't expecting to do a speech and when Max asked me to I was honored. And I was honored to be standing right up there with him today to witness this great union. I think he has found a wonderful woman in my sister Kristy. She is smart, determined, a hard worker and a go-getter- all qualities I wish I exhibited more. I think they compliment each and drive each other and are two of the most in love young adults I have seen. I hope I have half of the love, respect, and affection these two have for each other when I am sitting at my own wedding table next to my mail order bride.
Max has been really great to me since they have been together. He is always willing to talk and give me advice. I forget that he is only one year older than me because he is so mature for his age. Look at this couple- at 23 they have a house, two dogs, two cars. Look at me, almost 22 and I still live the college dormitories with 18 year olds and spend my nights playing video games and deciding whether or not to attend class the next day. I aspire to be like them.
You're more than just a friend now Max- you're my brother. Aaaand Kristy is my sister, which makes this wedding disgusting and illegal in most states- so thank you Dominican!
Cheers guys. I love ya and know your life together will be on giant success story.
GRE! GRE! GRE! uggh the day is almost upon me. I am so tired of practicing and studying and all that jazz- Tomorrow: Test. Afterwords: Harry Pawtta. Lets hope it's a good day...
What have I done this summer you ask? Here is the list:
Went to the Dominican Republic for a vaycay/ wedding.
Worked at Fairfax hospital
Interviewed/ met with- 2 PA schools
Went into D.C. and saw the National Gallery of Art and Newsuem...and Mall.
Traveled to Dallas to visit my sister and new brother.
Will be going to go to Wisconsin to an air show with mai mom and pops
Then go to the beach with my mom and sister
Then go back to school and will be an RA
OOOOH. big thing... invested almost $9,500 in the stock market and have made juuuust about $1,300 in 5 days. booyah.
still didn't go to any concerts- haven't gone tubing yet- who knows what's in store for the rest of summer '09
So, scheduled to come out a day before the 21st anniversary of my first birthday is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Thus far, I have read the book twice and am going to read it a third time just a refresher. The thing I am looking forward to the most is seeing if the set-designers, writers, and producers create it on the screen in a similar fashion to my mind. The last movies came out before I read any of the books, so my ideas of Hogwarts and the characters are based on the films. I already know Slughorn looks nothing like the gent in the book. He is supposed to look like a fat walrus people....come on a skinny dude? I just imagine the walrus guy from the animated Alice in Wonderland. Already off to a bad start.
I know this is for the Order of the Phoenix and yes.... I did photoshop an old picture of me...and yes I drew a lightening bolt scar on my head with my sister's make-up pencil...Anyways- this movie is one I've really been looking forward to seeing- lets hope it doesn't disappoint!
So after much talk and a good 45 minutes of intense and quality research, I think if I could go out and buy a camera right now I would get the Canon Rebel T1i.

It's about being on the road, it's called turn the page.
....and cue the sax.

Nooo, this is not Travis Tritt. This lumberjackesque man is none other than Bob Seger. Look at him, sitting there with some city skyline behind him. I like to think he is flying on some magic carpet with a motorcycle windshield in front (because obviously his hair isn't flowing in the wind as we would all like it to be). I am also sure that his hair isn't growing from the top of his head- it's a mere extension of his beard and is formed into the flowing locks we see sported above. Does his carpet get picked up on radar and, if so, what is his relationship with air traffic control? Wait. Stop. Another question to be answered at another time. Moving on...
Bob Seger has produced countless hits such as : Against the Wind, Old Time Rock and Roll, Night Moves, and of course Turn the Page. It is literally the best long drive song on the planet and is up there on my top ten list. It's probably my number one most played on iTunes. And when you're competing against techno, hardcore gangsta rap, and the venga boys that says something. The song simply has staying power. I mean, I can listen to it over and over again and it will never lose the quality that drew me to it in the first place. Not many songs do that. Tip of the cap to you Bob Seger- Turn the Page rocks.
So this is it. This is the summer I am going to get a DSLR. It's going to be my last year at school, last stint of home games at lane stadium, last candle-light vigil, last round living in the dorms, one more winter at the university. I want to be able to document it with my photographs- I am not a good photographer, but would very much like to learn and t become as good as I can be. So now I am researching and don't really know what to get. Should I go for a D40? or perhaps a D60?
Or should I go for a Canon Rebel XTi? I am asking a few professional photographer friends and I get some mixed responses. I'll have to research a lot more to see what suits me best and what may be a good beginner/intermediate camera.
They are both sweet cameras...
